Review #5:Lamar Theater's Fiddler on the Roof

Review #5:Fiddler on the Roof

Last night,I had the privilege of seeing "Fiddler on the Roof"with some good friends of mine at Lamar Theater at Lamar State College-Port Arthur.Upon my arrival at the theater, who do I see??My Middle School Theatre teacher,Mr.Clark Reed, was the first to greet me.It was so refreshing and awesome to see him!!

Anyway,back to the show...

Fiddler on the Roof is a musical written by Joseph Stein,Sheldon Harnick and Jerry Brock.Fiddler was directed by Mr. Keith Cockrell. Now,I have never seen Fiddler before, but im sure glad this performance was my first time seeing it.

Everything was absolutely beautiful!!!From the singing to the sets, everything was just awesome!!The choreography absolutely blew me away!!Like the "Wedding Dance" or numbers like "To Life",all of them were just great.

Also the sets were done very well, with the moving house pieces and the set up for "The Dream",they were all just amazing.Another great thing about "The Dream" scene was the actual flying Fruma Sarah and the floating Grandmother Tzietel, those were probably my favorite technical feats of the show.

This show was an absolute 5 star show!!!This was a great show put on by Lamar State College-Port Arthur and Port Arthur Little Theater!!

Review #4: OCP's It's Hee Haw Ya'll

Sorry this is coming in so late...i mean really late...but here it is..

okay,so even though Hee Haw showed earlier this month and its almost August,im still gonna review it.

"It's Hee Haw Ya'll" was a very cute and funny Young People's Theater Workshop production. From the Barber shop Sketches to the well known group numbers like "Gloom,Despair, and Agony",everything was very entertaining and really captured what the original Hee Haw truly was.

Watching Hee Haw was always a memory I've had with my dad's family(who live in Alabama and who enjoyed Hee Haw) and it was an absolute pleasure and privilege to see my family memories become live on stage.

Another awesome show directed by Codie Vasquez.Keep on rocking Mrs.Codie!!

As always,Don't miss OCP's upcoming season,It's gonna be a great one!!

Backstage Story #1:Grease 2010

Okay,so this is one of my backstage stories that I still to this day laugh my head off at.

The one in the middle is me.......yeah,laugh it up.......
My very first school play I did was in 2010 and we performed ''Grease''.I was Danny, which was lucky for a sixth grader up against 7th and 8th graders trying out for the same part.Anyway, there was a scene in the show in which Danny runs in with a pair of shorts on because he's suppose to be running track. The pair of shorts I was wearing,I wore under my blue jeans throughout the first part of the play until that scene, then I would take the jeans off over my shoes and go to the scene. The scene change from the dance scene to the scene where I'm running was a really quick quick change. On our third performance night,I wasn't so lucky with the quick change.....My pants got stuck. Two of my buddies helped me get one pant leg off,but my cue came and I went on stage with my pants dragging behind me with one pant leg on one ankle. The crowd was in an uproar of laughter!I delivered my line and then the guys on stage proceeded to pull the leg off...Right there on stage!!!I was on the stage floor pulling my foot as the other two boys were pulling the opposite way, pulling off my pant leg.The crowd was still laughing! At least they were laughing...They finally managed to get my pant leg off and they threw them backstage. We continued the scene kinda like something didn't just happen.I was so embarrassed! What a night!

About a week later,I got the DVD copy of our performance....they filmed the third night....the night that my pants were dragging behind me.At least then,I was able to laugh at it.
At the park

So just keep one thing in mind.........Stuff Happens.
